Poolside Wishes and BBQ Dreams

So not our house.

So not our house.

Winter has its moments, but here at Van Arden Farms, we are already getting excited about summer, longer days and outdoor living.  As far as we’re concerned, this will be the summer of luxury and relaxation.

Those who know us well know that we’re huge (maybe more than huge), lifelong fans of Target, and we’ve learned how to work the system.  Between Cartwheel (please tell us you use Cartwheel), our 5% Redcard discount (please tell us you have a Redcard–5% and free shipping is no joke), and keeping our eyes on the weekly ads, we’re always guaranteed to get a good deal.  We are only willing to recommend products and companies we love, and because we love Target so much, we have joined their affiliate program (meaning we earn a small commission on products you buy from Target.com as a result of clicking on our hyperlinks).  With that disclosure behind us, here are some of the patio items we have bookmarked for this year:

Wicker:  still going strong in the patio furniture world.  This new Threshold set looks like it costs twice as much as it really does:

And if the budget is tight, there is always the loft set:

A daybed is a must this year, and the look of this one can easily be changed up with new pillows:

And here’s the classic “daybed light”:

Finally, we fell in love with this Black Firehouse Chiminea last year due to the high design and the fact that it looks unlike anything else out there:

And again, if you don’t have a Redcard, what is stopping you?  We are not fans of store credit cards ourselves, which is why we were so excited when Target came out with Redcard Debit a few years ago–it links to your checking account and works like a debit card, so no interest and no annual fees.  If you sign up in the store, you need to have a voided check with you, and a lot of us don’t carry around our checkbooks anymore.  But did you know you can register online as well?  Now you do.

This makes me long for summer. Unfortunately it snowed in Utah this morning. I can’t wait to roll out the patio furniture and light up the barbecue. This is beautiful furniture, and I especially love the idea of the daybed. I haven’t seen one of those before. One of these days I’ll be outside planting my garden, and cutting fresh flowers for the house. Can’t wait!

I absolutely love the look of that wicker furniture…and I do believe the sweet music of free shipping is calling out to me! :)
I think – though – that I will definitely be looking into that Black Firehouse as well. That might be something I can get a little bit more use out of right now… Here in Tennessee, the winter weather seems to be holding on for dear life! Here are some outdoor decorating ideas to check out as well… http://www.houzz.com/photos/patio

Gorgeous patio furniture! It’s snowy and windy here in the Midwest. Now, I’m dreaming of a warm summer day!
